Questions worth answering up front
Does scanning a plate tell me who owns the car?
No. KenScan has no connection to any government vehicle registry and cannot look up an owner. A scan only matches against listings that sellers have published here themselves, and it shows the vehicle and the seller's username — never their real name.
What happens if I scan a car that isn't for sale?
You get a 'not listed' result and a row of similar vehicles that are for sale. Nothing is recorded against that vehicle, and its owner is not notified — we have no way of knowing who they are.
Where is the photo processed when I scan?
On our servers, not on your phone. The photo is sent to our plate-recognition service, read, and used only to run that one search — it is not added to your profile or kept as part of your account. The Privacy Policy sets out exactly what happens to it.
Is my real name shown anywhere?
No. We collect it once at registration for our records and to meet our legal obligations. Everything other users see — your listings, your profile, your chats — carries your chosen username.
How do I pay for a vehicle?
Directly with the seller, away from the app. KenScan is where you find the vehicle and agree the details; it holds no money, offers no escrow and processes no vehicle payments. The only thing you ever pay us is the membership.
What can I put in a listing?
Plate, vehicle type, brand, model, year, mileage, owners, colour, body type, fuel, gearbox, engine, power, drivetrain, price and currency, country and city, a description and photos. The form adapts to the vehicle type, and saves as a draft while you fill it in.
Which countries and languages are supported?
The app is published across European countries and Türkiye, and listings carry a country and city so you can filter to your region. The interface is available in English, German and Turkish.
How do I report a fraudulent or spam listing?
Email contact@ken-scan.com with the plate number or a link to the listing. Listings publish without prior review, so reports are how we find the bad ones — we investigate and remove anything that breaches our Terms.
